Could I have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome)?
Question by : Could I have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome)?
I’m 13, it started 2-3 months ago, I just suddenly always needed the toilet. Bowel movement yes.
I ignored it for a while, expecting it to go, but then school started! It always happened 3 hours into school and I kept hearing my stomach rumble, but not like a normal rumble, it was really deep and muffled, and very lengthly. I told my mum and she just said maybe it’s cause you don’t eat meat. (Im a vegeterian) I did research and found out meat actually made it worse so I ignored that too.
It ALWAYS comes with loads of airy gas which lasts 10 seconds when I release it on the toilet. (tmi sorry)
Today it got really bad after I accidently swallowed chewing gum, but that might not be the reason, so I skipped lunch, I tried going to the toilets but just to urinate and maybe let out gas, because believe me, when you have social anxiety syndrome, it’s very hard going to the public toilet.
I came out in cold sweats and my face went really pale, my stomach started cramping and by the way what does it means when someone has a spasm? I don’t know because every twentyish minutes it feels like unbearable pain in my intestines, which makes my legs shake and I have to keep moving because it’s that bad, and after 6 or so seconds it feels like a balloon being poked with a needle, but I don’t actually release the gas, it stays inside if that makes sense? And it makes the same muffled noise thing.
Help please, my dads a doctor I tried talking to him about it and he says I have a reflex thing everytime I eat, I asked him what I should do and he said ‘Oh, it happens, don’t worry about it’ I can’t ! It’s terrible. What are some pills I can take to ease the gas or pills for my problem? Help me please I can’t stand it! I am not sure if it’s IBS or something else. I go to the toilet about 3-4 times a day and I have considerate amounts of bowel movement every time.
Sometimes it feels a bit constipated, sometimes diarrhoea. Mostly it’s normal. No blood, no mucus.
Help please!!!!!! Anything you have to say I’d love to hear it, no matter how big or small because everything you say helps me

Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Irritable bowel syndrome, functional colitis, intestinal neurosis, is a chronic digestive disease of unknown cause that affects so unequal a large percentage of the population (14% in the United States of America).
The symptoms are varied and scattered, mainly characterized by abdominal discomfort or pain, diarrhea, constipation, chronic diarrhea or cast down sometimes alternate or sometimes with only one of these symptoms and fullness. But always it is abdominal discomfort with some type of intestinal motility dysfunction with negative results of all tests performed in the digestive tract from the bowel contrast studies, analytical, scanners, endoscopes, etc.. Another fact is indicative of hypersensitivity to any bloating or gas produced by irritating food.
It is usually a chronic condition and accompany the patient throughout their life, sometimes with mild symptoms that do not require going to the doctor, sometimes assuming a major disruption in their daily lives. If your stomach hurts after eating maybe you have Irritable Bowel syndrome and you have to go with the doctor.

i hope you feel better, and can say with certainty that after you try what im about to write you will feel better because I did and people who tried these things did too. If ur under stress, you have to eliminate it because it will create more problems with IBS. When you mention your condition to people no one takes your seriously until they have been in your shoes. I can say that because I was under crazy stress for 2 years and my problems were the same and never going away until i realized what had to be done. I would hope you take into account my advice as i was a teenager going through it and now im 22 and feeling better than i ever did before. i have the same conditions as you do. but i don’t take any medications. I have GERD/Gastritis/ some IBS. i felt like going to the bathroom all the time, even after going i felt like i needed another round. I stopped taking medications because they help, but they also mess up the system more. Alot of people don’t realize that the medications are toxic to your digestive and it reacts in that way by getting rid of it and anything thats in your gut and thus you get diarrhea (undigested food particle straight from the stomach). I started to take activia probiotic yogure twice a day (am and pm). Along with that I take a wonderful natural HERB. its called Triphala by Planetary Herbals. its on amazon for cheap prize. Its a mixture of three indian plants. Its what people in india been using through ages. Since its natural your body won’t react negatively to it. It has NO side effects so you are ok. I Would Highly recommend giving this product a try and trust me you will thank whoever found this mixture. I have been taking these for about a month and i have normal bowel movements, once/twice daily. Also I have noticed that the cramping, bloating, excessive gas are all gone away. The food i eat is digested completely and i don’t feel fatigued like i used to.
I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND you try Triphala because it’ll bring you wonderful results.
Change your diet (its the most important part since its your digestive system thats giving you the troubles). Stop dairy products (MILK is a NO-NO, cheese and other is ok but not in too much Qty. no more fast foods, frozen foods, deep fried foods as these will keep your stomach irritated and you will feel the effects for a longer period of time. Taking the meds will help, but seriously who wants to them for the rest of their lives, NOT ME. Try the above steps to stengthen your stomach (inside wall), muslces around and after that you will be normal again, and feel like you never had IBS before. IBS is curable if you change diet and experiment with things, but if you don’t change diet and keep at it with same food and lifestyle it can be chronic.
HOPE you feel better!
** PS: whatever i have said, i have tried all and seen great results and thats why i mentioned. I have been through the ups/downs in it and know the stress it brings and messes up your life.
I had trouble in school because of the rumbling in my stomach, and now i can go to class hassle free without any worries of having a flare up. You have to take initiative to better your health.
Hope i helped!
