Have you tried adding plain pumpkin to his food? That helps a lot.

I hear your fear and frustration. You need to think about what is in your dog’s best interests every step of the way from here. It isn’t easy, but it’s the right thing to do. If you can reasonably get him feeling better, then do it, but if not…

Best of luck to both of you.

I have a dog with IBS as well….it’s not fun :-(

First, look at the food you are feeding. Many dogs have issues with corn and/or wheat. And believe it or not, many more dogs are showing up allergic to lamb.

I put mine onto a corn & wheat free chicken based kibble, and I gave her a tablespoon of PLAIN yoghurt with probiotics in it with each meal. Make sure you use plain, as flavoured (even vanilla) has added sugars which can make the diarrhea worse.

Within a week she was having soft, but formed stools, within two weeks, normal stools. It’s been 6 months since she’s had anythin worse than sporadic, occassional diarrhea.

    Good luck!
