I’m 16 and this is now the third time that I have been constipated in the last 4 months. My doctor said she thinks it might be IBS (irritable bowel syndrome).
I have been taking laxatives that the doctor gave me and a anti spasmodic tablet but It’s not taking away the pain or shifting the stools quick enough :/
I’ve started blending fruits to make a smoothie and thats still not shifting it. I do eat veg at dinner and i walk my dog for about 30 mins a day. I used to eat wheatabix a lot for breakfast but since i’ve stopped that it’s gotten worse :S Should i eat that again or is there a problem?
I’ve got a double whamy of pain because it happens right before my period which i get pains from. I can’t take pain killers with the constipation tablets.
Ughh :/

Drinking peppermint tea helps with IBS related pains and cramps xx As fennel and it may we wise to cut out IBS trigger foods from your diet for a while, everyone is different with their trigger foods but very common ones are fats and sugars (e.g. butter, oily food), Spicy food, and citrus fruits and juices. So the smoothies you are making may well be triggering the pain. Juices such as apple do help constipation though and aren’t general triggers so I suggest you try. I hope you feel better soon and that some of this helps x

I have posted this constipation remedy several times and no one pays any attention But that is their problem. Eat a can of raw uncooked kraut. It will clean you out in about an hour. Warning, Stay very close to a bathroom for the next hour or so.
I must stress that you do not cook or heat the kraut or it will not work.
