I happen to have them both, unfortunately. At 1 time 2 years ago, I had the WORST abdominal pain that summer. I even had to go to the E.R. by an ambulance. It turns out, as I suspected, I had some complications with IBS. Somehow, I have thought about that I didn’t have any problems with my bowels before I was diagnosed with Diabetes almost 20 years ago. I hope somebody (perhaps a doctor) can help me with this question.

There’s a link between diabetes and celiac disease. never heard of a link between diabetes and IBS.

I’ve had moderate digestive disorders over the last 25 years and I’m pretty sure they were at least partially caused by some degree of permanent damage to the intestines due to spells of severe hypoglycemia. I almost remember noticing it when it happens. But I only have my say-so. Not sure there’s any objective evidence of a link though. I’ve had memory issues too.
